The Northern Alberta chapter of Ronald McDonald House Charities® had a website that was difficult to navigate and confusing to update. On top of that, it wasn’t responsive, which meant mobile audiences were getting even more frustrated. I was part of the team tasked with creating a better online experience for people needing more information about the House.
The overall look and feel of the new site is family friendly without being juvenile, which can be a pitfall for some charitable groups. It communicates how the House helps families, and through real-life stories we show users how they can help the charity on their own. Each story ends with a call to action, encouraging visitors to donate, volunteer, or simply read about another family’s experience.
